EFRC General Assembly, April 17th, 2026 in Duisburg / Germany
We THANK SIEMENS ENERGY for hosting us!
Once again, we can look back on a successful and familial General Assembly.
It kicked off on Wednesday, April 15, with the R&D meeting, where current pre-competitive activities have been discussed and new projects have been proposed, e.g. ways to apply AI to recipes.
A highlight for many of us was the extremely interesting guided tour of the Siemens Energy plant, during which we were able to view the machinery on display and the production hall. Thanks to Mario Dewald and his team!
Located right on the quiet inner harbor, the König Pilsener Wirtshaus welcomed us for a delicious dinner-evening filled with pleasant conversation, the joy of reunions, and the making of plans.
At the General Assembly, we officially bid farewell to the following individuals and extend our heartfelt thanks for their outstanding support of the EFRC:
- Dr. Herbert Steinrück: Conference Task Force-Programme Committee, 2014–2025
- Christian Prinz: Head of the Conference Task Force, 2014–2026
- Sophie Amm: Conference Task Force-Project Manager, 2020–2026 (not present)
- Marc Langela: Lead of the R&D Working Group, 2019–2026
- Konrad Klotsche: Lead of the Young Talents WG, 2019–2026.
Furthermore we welcomed the following new team members:
- Bernhard Streibl – Conference Task Force-Programme Committee
- Timon Petz – Student Workshop…
…as well as our PhD student, Edward Effendi, who presented his project
“CoolSkin” – a project funded by the EFRC.
The assembly also discussed EFRCs‘ strategy, ideas and goals for the next years.
The meeting minutes & presentations have already been distributed to all members.
