- The EFRC Standardization Group should serve as a platform to collect ideas from the international industry for improving, extending and developing standards and guidelines for reciprocating compressor systems.
- Should keep the EFRC members up to date of recent developments on international standards (e.g. API, ISO, EN etc.) and guidelines for reciprocating compressor systems.
- Should initiate, help and facilitate the EFRC on improving and developing international standards and guidelines.
The working group is open to all EFRC members with a budget funded by the participating members. The chairperson will be chosen by voting during the EFRC general assembly. It is also possible that experts from international industry, who are not a member of the EFRC, are invited by the chairperson to take part in the working group for specific projects.
The working group meets at least two times per year by telecom and, where necessary, a face-to-face meeting will be organised. Updates will be given on relevant international standards & guidelines and the progress of any ongoing EFRC projects during these meetings. Any new project proposals will also be discussed.
The working group will have a strong relationship with the EFRC research and development working group. The standards group chairman will, whenever possible, attend the R&D group biannual meetings to give an update on standards work. Relevant research & development projects might result in content that the standards group can continue to develop for publication or for dissemination to international standards bodies. The standards group can also request that the R&D working group considers working on specific research type projects on their behalf.
A final target is to include EFRC guidelines and content in internationally accepted standards for reciprocating compressors, e.g. API or ISO.
